Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Exposure to oxygen enriched air with pressures above the ambient pressure (nominally 1 bar) is an established therapeutic procedure, helping the cure of many skin-related conditions such as diabetic ulcers, or problems caused by hypoxia (lack of oxygen in a tissue) such as certain cancerous lesions. It also is a routine procedure for decompression illness or certain respiratory conditions. Some studies has figured out that HBOT increases the healing rate and decreases the post-healing complications in 2nd and 3rd degree thermal burns.
